From 1975 to 2023 Indiana Precision Grinding has pioneered, persevered, and consistently improved our operations to support all of our customers. Initially in 1975, IPG was originally branded as Centerless Grinding Company. Our focus and vision was to provide a solution to, at that time, was a common challenge in the job shop market, finding a strong centerless grinding source. Founding entrepreneur, William Cox, relocated Centerless Grinding Company from a small building in downtown Indianapolis to our current location in the mid 1980’s. The next step was rebranding Centerless Grinding Company to Indiana Precision Grinding as our scope of grinding services became more diversified.

Over the past 48 years of business, IPG has evolved from a small job shop serving a handful of customers to becoming an AS9100 Certified precision grinding supplier to over 120 customers every year. William Cox spearheaded a campaign in the early 1990’s to formalize our Quality Management System in the ISO certification process. Next, he brought in CNC capabilities to our shop floor to provide more precision grinding processes for our customers. After the sudden passing of William Cox, David Cox stabilized the transition of leadership, evolved our QMS from the ISO certification process to becoming AS9100 certified, continued installing more CNC technology to our arsenal, and focusing on supporting the aerospace industry.
