CASE STUDY #1

LANDING GEAR COMPONENT

Landing gear components receive multiple coatings in both inside and outside areas, but since there is no other surface that can be used to work from once the part is coated, they are difficult to work on. We worked with a titanium axle sleeve requiring HVOF-applied tungsten carbine coatings: two on the inside and two on the outside.

CASE STUDY #2

GAS TURBINE COMBUSTION CHAMBER PART

Out of round parts are difficult to coat and grind while also preserving the thickness of the coatings. Out of roundness of diameter from the cast part create challenges for the machining source in achieving a round OD for locating with work-holding during grinding.
